Patient Instructions
  1. 1PATIENT ID is required for all exams.
  2. 2If you have symptoms of any respiratory illness, do not visit the site. Call to reschedule your appointment.
  3. 3Masks are now OPTIONAL at all clinics for both patients and staff.
  4. 4Only accommodate patients in the clinic. Those accompanying patients must remain outside, with exceptions for elderly patients, caregivers, interpreters, parents/guardians of school-age children to age 16, or spouses attending for obstetrical exams.
  5. 5Children under 16 years of age cannot be left unattended in the waiting room.
  6. 6Provide 24 hours notice to change or cancel an appointment to avoid a $100 no show fee.
  7. 7Arrive 10 minutes prior to your booked ultrasound or mammogram.
  8. 8Bring a valid Care Card and current doctor’s requisition to all examinations.
  9. 9Only the exam(s) indicated on your requisition form can be provided.
  10. 10Incomplete requisitions may result in a delay.
  11. 11Unable to accommodate patients on stretchers/gurney due to facility size constraints.
  12. 12Technologists cannot discuss what they see with you; only radiologists are qualified to interpret results.
  13. 13Results will be sent to your doctor.
  14. 14Option to purchase a CD of your images; ask receptionist about fee and processing time.
  15. 15For walk-in x-ray patients, arrive a minimum of 30 minutes before closing time to ensure you will be seen.
  16. 16For the safety of your children, please arrange to leave them at home, or bring someone to watch them in the waiting room.
  17. 17Do not wear underarm deodorant, powders, ointments, or creams on your breasts on the day of a mammogram.
  18. 18If possible, obtain prior mammograms and make them available to the technologist.
  19. 19Do not schedule mammogram for the week before your period if breasts are usually tender; best time is one week following your period.
  20. 20Inform doctor and x-ray technologist if there is any possibility of pregnancy.
  21. 21Describe any breast symptoms or problems to the technologist performing the exam.
  22. 22Clinics are PERFUME-FREE FACILITIES.

Referral Process: Valley Medical Imaging accepts all requisitions from other facilities. Physicians can view patient images and reports via a secure website portal after the examination. A new RIS/PACS program was implemented on June 12th, 2023.
