  1. 1Bring Ontario Health Card and Insurance information.
  2. 2Bring medications taken regularly in labeled pharmacy containers.
  3. 3Bring feminine pads (2 packs).
  4. 4Bring clothing: underwear (3-6), slippers, pyjamas, housecoat, socks, nursing bra & pads, extra change of loose-fitting clothes.
  5. 5Bring personal care items: Toothbrush & paste, mouthwash, soap, brush, shampoo, lotion, lip balm, etc.
  6. 6Bring items for comfort during labour and stay: pillow, music, hot pack, breastfeeding pillow (optional), etc.
  7. 7Bring camera/phone.

  10. 10For newborns: 1-2 packs newborn diapers, wipes, barrier cream, sleepers, clothing for trip home, undershirts, socks & hats, receiving blankets, safety-approved car seat.
  11. 11For support person: pillow, sleeping bag, change of clothes, food & drinks labelled with name.
  12. 12Do not bring perfumes, latex balloons, lilies due to allergies.
  13. 13Bring any personal assistive devices required for appointment (e.g., communication or mobility device).
  14. 14Refrain from using or wearing perfumes, scented deodorants and scented products before coming to hospital (no scent policy).
  15. 15For C-section: Bring completed pre-operative bloodwork. Do not eat or drink anything for at least 8 hours before surgery. Come directly to the Birthing Unit in Wing A, Level 1.
  16. 16Wash hands regularly with soap and warm water, especially after eating, coughing, sneezing, and using the washroom.
  17. 17Children under 16 are not permitted onto the Special Care Nursery unit unless they are the sibling of the new baby, up-to-date with vaccinations, and accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  18. 18Do not visit if feeling unwell or have symptoms such as cough, fever, runny nose, sore throat, diarrhea, vomiting or a new rash.
