Patient Instructions
  1. 1Move in time is between 9am and 10am for every new resident.
  2. 2Bring 7-10 changes of clothing (laundry services will label all clothing upon move in).
  3. 3Bring personal items: Pictures, books, favorite blankets or Afghan.
  4. 4Bring toiletries.
  5. 5Bring a television up to 35 inches (if desired); basic cable services are supplied.
  6. 6Bring legal documents including personal directive, power of attorney, guardianship/trusteeship.
  7. 7Bring void cheque/bank card to set up a comfort/trust fund for resident to pay for hairdresser, tuck shop and recreation outings.
  8. 8Do not carry any cash.
  9. 9Do not bring valuable items, like family heirlooms and jewelry.
  10. 10Do not bring extra furniture (some items like a chair may fit, depends upon room size).
  11. 11No shelving or additional items as space does not permit, especially in shared rooms.
  12. 12Do not bring personal electronics that require assistance as staff will not be able to assist with set up or maintenance.
  13. 13All electrical items/cords are subject to inspection from Maintenance team.
  14. 14Do not bring any extra appliances or extension cords; talk with Maintenance Dept with any questions.
  15. 15If not feeling well, do not visit the site, even with a cold or stomach ache.
  16. 16If visiting during an outbreak, wear a mask upon entering the building.
  17. 17If visiting anyone on isolation, full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn.
  18. 18Perform hand hygiene multiple times when both entering and exiting residents’ rooms.
  19. 19Follow the protocol posted on the door of the room for PPE.
  20. 20When visiting, go directly to the resident’s room and do not visit any other residents.
  21. 21Do not walk around inside the site with your resident; you are welcome to take them outside.
