Patient Profile:Individual pet owners, breeders, and livestock producers across Canada seeking veterinary medicines, health, and nutritional supplements.
Patient Instructions
  1. 1Please contact them Monday-Friday 9:30am-4:30pm to order refills, fill new prescriptions or address any "pet" questions or concerns.
  2. 2Messages left in their absence will be returned as soon as possible during regular weekday "pet" hours.
  3. 3A licensed pharmacist is in the store Monday-Friday 9:30am-8pm and Saturdays 9:30-5pm. However, not all staff have "pet experience".
  4. 4Refills, new orders or questions cannot be addressed evenings or weekends.
  5. 5For prescription medications, a prescription from a licensed and practicing veterinarian in your area of Canada is required.
  6. 6Your veterinarian can call them at 905-669-0763 or fax a prescription to 905-669-5454.
  7. 7They can contact your veterinarian on your behalf to request a prescription.
  8. 8If attaching a copy of a prescription to your order, the ORIGINAL MUST be mailed to: Glen Shields Pharmacy (ThePetPharmacist.ca) 80 Glen Shields Ave Concord ON L4K1T7.
  9. 9They cannot ship based on COPIES, labels, invoices or print outs of emailed copies.
  10. 10They will NOT ship orders for prescription medication prior to obtaining valid prescription authorization.
  11. 11You can cancel your order, or any part of your order, at any time prior to shipping by email, phone or fax.
  12. 12They do not accept returns for: Products with a prescription designation, Prescription or OTC products requiring refrigeration, Custom compounded prescription and OTC products.
  13. 13They accept returns of unopened merchantable products up to 30 days after the date of purchase.
  14. 14Contact them if an item is shipped in error, defective, or damaged for replacement or full refund.
  15. 15Contact them if a shipment is delayed beyond 5 days or received in damaged condition.
  16. 16They cannot honor manufacturer's discount coupons.
  17. 17You will receive an order confirmation email upon completion of your online order and another email with tracking information when your order is shipped.
  18. 18You will only be charged for your order when it has been fully assembled and is ready to ship.
  19. 19All veterinary products are subject to PST, GST or HST depending on your location.
  20. 20Shipping charges are taxed at Ontario HST rates.
  21. 21Standard shipping is by Canada Post, with Xpresspost or Expedited Parcel service options.
  22. 22All orders containing prescription items require proof of delivery and are typically "carded for pick up" at a local postal outlet.
  23. 23They no longer ship "cold chain items" (those requiring refrigeration) due to damage not covered by Canada Post.
  24. 24Orders can be picked up at the pharmacy free of charge.
  25. 25If you have a courier account, they can ship on your account free of handling charge.
  26. 26Regular shipping is generally in the $14.00 - $22.00 range.
  27. 27Refrigerated items are shipped two-day or next-day service and cost approximately $20.00 - $40.00.
  28. 28Shipping times are based on the date the package leaves the pharmacy, not when the order is placed.
  29. 29Delays may occur when waiting for prescription authorization or stock.
  30. 30If a specialty product needs to be ordered or compounded, it may take 3 or 4 weekdays to get it in stock.
  31. 31Patients should order in advance or notify them if running short on medication.
  32. 32Patients should always be prepared to purchase medications locally to cover potential delays.
  33. 33For online purchases, they accept Visa, MasterCard, and e-transfer.
  34. 34If picking up an order at the pharmacy, payment options include cash, debit, Visa, and Mastercard.
  35. 35They do not permanently store credit card information; it is deleted or destroyed once the order is processed.
