  1. 1Patients and visitors will receive a validation ticket to leave gated lots at the QEII Health Sciences Centre without paying. Tickets will be available at information desks and registration kiosks. Where kiosk registration isn't necessary, rebate tickets will be given out by clerical staff at your clinics. At the QEII emergency departments, security personnel will provide validation tickets to patients and visitors.
  2. 2Patients who need transportation between the HI and VG sites can take the patient and staff shuttle, which runs between sites every 20 minutes during the day.
  3. 3Patients and visitors at the QEII have free access to wireless Internet services (Wi-Fi). The network name is QEII_wifi.
  4. 4Please leave valuables at home.
  5. 5To use VirtualCareNS, you need to: Have a valid Nova Scotia health card number. Be able to access the internet through a computer or mobile device. Have an e-mail address. Be located within the province when accessing VirtualCareNS.
  6. 6If you are requesting a visit for a child or a dependent, they need to be at the virtual visit. It is not possible to get care for a patient who is not at the virtual visit.
  7. 7If you do not have a primary care provider and are not on the Need a Family Practice Registry, you can register online or by calling 811.
  8. 8If you have used Maple as a paid customer in the past, you will need to convert your account to a VirtualCareNS account. Please contact https://www.getmaple.ca/contact-us/.
  9. 9If you are an adult who has a child or children under the age of 16, you can add them to your VirtualCareNS profile.
  10. 10Children aged 15 and younger should be registered as dependents on their guardian's account. Make sure that you include the dependent's Nova Scotia healthcare card number on their profile when creating their profile on your account. Dependents must be able to attend any visits you request for them.
  11. 11When your care team knows as much as they can about you, they are able to provide the best possible care. One way you can help them get to know you is by filling out a Social History and sharing it with them.
