Patient Instructions
  1. 1Patients and visitors will receive a validation ticket to leave gated lots at QEII without paying. Tickets will be available at information desks and registration kiosks. Where kiosk registration isn’t necessary, rebate tickets will be given out by clerical staff in their respective clinics. At the QEII emergency departments, validation tickets will be provided to patients and visitors by security personnel.
  2. 2Appointments are required for blood collection service. If you have a referral, you may book an appointment for blood collection at this location anytime online or by calling 902-473-2074 or toll-free 1-833-942-2298 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday (excluding holidays).
  3. 3Patients must be 12 years and older for blood collection.
  4. 4If you think you might have a urological condition, or you would like to meet with a urologist, please contact your family physician or primary care provider for a referral.
  5. 5Grief counseling is available in person or virtually. In-person sessions are offered at the Bereavement Coordinator’s office at the Victoria General Hospital (Palliative Care, 7A-055), weekly at Alderney Gate Public Library in Dartmouth, and occasionally at the Bedford and Lower Sackville Libraries.
  6. 6Grief and Bereavement Services can be accessed through self-referral by contacting the Bereavement Coordinator.
  7. 7As your surgeon works with you to decide if you will need surgery, they may ask you to complete a health history questionnaire. How you respond will help clinic staff determine if you need an in person appointment, a virtual appointment or a phone call leading up to your scheduled surgery. Your answers will also help them decide what other tests or services you may need.
