  1. 1If you are between the ages of 40-74 you can book an exam through Breast Imaging Kingston. You do not require a referral from a doctor or nurse practitioner.
  2. 2If you meet eligibility criteria for breast cancer screening, you do not require a referral from a primary healthcare provider. Submit a self-referral.
  3. 3If you don’t understand something or if you miss anything, ask for it to be repeated or explained until you feel that you do understand.
  4. 4If you feel like you’re getting a lot of information at once, ask a friend or family member to be with you when you talk to your health-care team. They can help listen and write down any important information for you.
  5. 5Bring a notebook to the hospital so you can write notes to refer back to at a later time.
  6. 6Make sure your health-care team knows about any symptoms you may have.
  7. 7Make sure your doctor knows your health and family history.
