Patient Instructions
- 1Avoid wearing jewelry or any metallic objects on your body, as well as clothes with metal clips, snaps, buttons or zippers on the day of your test.
- 2Do not take calcium/vitamin supplements for 24 hours prior to examination (for BMD).
- 3If you have had a nuclear medicine dye injection or a barium study within the past two weeks, please reschedule your BMD test.
- 4Bring your Ontario Health Card (OHIP) and requisition to your appointment and arrive 15 minutes early to register.
- 5Inform the technologist if you are or think you may be pregnant (for X-ray).
- 6You should not have an x-ray during the last 2 weeks of their menstrual period.
