Patient Instructions
  1. 1Review Patient Preparation Sheet for your procedure.
  2. 2Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing for your ultrasound exam.
  3. 3Doctor may instruct not to eat or drink for up to 12 hours before appointment (consult patient prep sheet).
  4. 4Remove clothing and jewelry in the area to be examined.
  5. 5Do not schedule mammogram for the week before your period if breasts are tender; best time is one week after period.
  6. 6Inform doctor or X-ray technologist if there is any possibility of pregnancy.
  7. 7Do not wear deodorant, talcum powder, or lotion under arms or on breasts on the day of the mammogram.
  8. 8Describe any breast symptoms or problems to the technologist performing the mammogram.
  9. 9If possible, obtain prior mammograms and make them available to the radiologist.
  10. 10Ask when your mammogram results will be available.
  11. 11Remove all jewelry and clothing above the waist for mammogram and wear provided gown.
  12. 12Patients may be asked to fast and refrain from liquids before CT scan.
  13. 13Report allergy status accurately, especially any history with contrast materials.
