  2. For abdominal and pelvic ultrasound in the afternoon/evening (12:30 PM - 7:30 PM), fast completely five hours before the appointment (no food, no drink, no gum, no smoking/vaping). You may eat breakfast/lunch before the five-hour fasting period, but avoid dairy and fatty foods. Do not urinate during the fasting period; bladder must be full.
