Apply an antibiotic ointment (e.g., PolysporinMC). Wear comfortable shoes with a wide toe box or open-toed sandals.
  2. For athlete's foot: Wash feet daily. Keep feet dry by changing socks as needed. Dry feet thoroughly after showering, especially between the toes. Wear adequate shoes. If using instruments like nail clippers or files, disinfect them before and after each use. Do not share personal instruments with family members. Avoid walking barefoot in public places.
  3. For diabetic foot care: Adopt healthy lifestyle habits. Wash feet daily and dry them between the toes. Examine feet daily using a mirror if needed. Check bath water temperature with your elbow. If using instruments like nail clippers or files, disinfect them before and after each use. Do not share personal instruments with family members. Avoid using pharmaceutical products without a prescription. Avoid wearing inadequate shoes like very high heels. Avoid putting on shoes without checking for foreign objects inside.
