Patient Instructions
  1. 1Patients must be 2 years and older for blood collection.
  2. 2Appointments are required for blood collection, rapid test pick up, and PCR testing.
  3. 3Samples for water testing must be collected using bottles provided by NS Health.
  4. 4Patients for the Urgent Treatment Centre will be seen by appointment only.
  5. 5Patients who require emergency care should continue to call 911.
  6. 6A referral from a doctor and an appointment are required for an EKG and X-ray.
  7. 7If you follow a special diet or have food-related allergies or sensitivities, let us know when you arrive.

How to Refer: For Diabetes Centre, ask primary care provider for a referral. For ECG/EKG and X-ray, a requisition from a doctor is required. For Nutrition Education and Counselling, a referral form is needed. For Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy, an Outpatient Self Referral can be completed, or a Physician Outpatient Referral Form may be required. For Social Work, referrals can be made by patients, family members, friends, community agencies, and/or any member of the inter-disciplinary health care team.
