  2. 2A $3 parking fee will be charged when you exit the parking lot. Please make sure you have the correct change.

  4. 4If interested in a private or semi-private room, let the booking clerk know when they call with your hospital admission date and have your private insurance card ready when admitted.
  5. 5To connect phone service in your room, dial 499 from your bedside telephone. Remember to dial 499 to disconnect your phone when discharged.
  6. 6If you follow a special diet or have food-related allergies or sensitivities, let us know when you arrive.
  7. 7Appointments are required for blood collection service. Book online or by calling 902-563-8545 or toll free 1-833-395-1440.
  8. 8For breast screening, women over 40 with no breast problems and no breast implants may self-refer by calling HRM: 473-3960 or Toll-Free: 1-800-565-0548. Have your health card ready.
  9. 9To change or cancel an appointment, call toll free at 1-844-I-REBOOK (1-844-473-2665).
  10. 10For SANE services, go to any open emergency department, call local police or RCMP, contact your primary health care provider, or call the SANE 24-hour response line at 1-844-858-8036.

Referral Process: Physician referral is required for Bone Mineral Density Testing, Echocardiogram, CT Scan, Chronic Kidney Disease Clinic, Chronic Pain Services, Home Dialysis Unit, Interventional Radiology, MRI, Nuclear Medicine Tests, Pediatric Inpatient Services, Ultrasound, and X-Ray. A referral from a family doctor to Nephrology is required for the Renal Clinic. A referral from a primary care provider (doctor or Nurse Practitioner) is required for Chronic Pain Services. For COPD, ask the family physician or respirologist to fill out the INSPIRED COPD outreach Program referral form. For Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, patients must be referred by a physician or dentist. For Orthopedic Surgery, a primary care provider will make a referral to an Orthopedic surgeon. For Heart Function Clinics, referral by a specialist is required. For Vascular Surgery Clinic, a referral from a primary care provider is required.
How to Refer: Referral forms may be mailed, faxed or emailed for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. For COPD, fill out the INSPIRED COPD outreach Program referral form. For Hip/Knee Arthritis and Replacement, a completed referral form and updated X-rays are required.
