Instructions

  1. Review English or Chinese instructions prior to virtual visit.
  2. For Exercise Stress Test (GXT) / Exercise Stress Echo: Light breakfast/lunch on the day of test, wear comfortable shoes, T-shirt, shorts or pants, no smoking 1 hour prior to testing, bring all current medications, check with physician regarding discontinuation of any related medication.
  3. For Vascular Ultrasound: No caffeine (coffee, tea, cola, decaffeinated products, chocolate, medications containing caffeine) on day of test, low fat meal the night prior to the date of test, nothing solid to eat on the morning of the test, take one bowl of jello on the morning of the test (for gas reduction). If diabetic, follow regular diet regimen.

  2. From Don Valley Parkway, exit Eglinton Avenue, go west to Yonge Street, then north on Yonge Street.
  3. From 401, exit Yonge Street, go south to Eglinton Avenue.

Research Involvement

Dr. Paul Dorian is a Co-PI on the NIH funded Resuscitation Outcomes Consortium and Chair of the arrhythmia section of the CaNNECTIN Canadian cardiovascular clinical trials collaborative. Dr. Chi-Ming Chow's academic interests include medical informatics and research on ethnic differences in cardiovascular disease and new technologies in non-invasive imaging, as well as artificial intelligence/machine learning. Dr. Michael Kutryk is a Clinician Scientist. Dr. Iqwal Mangat's research interests include evaluation and management of patients with syncope, palpitations, risk factors for sudden cardiac death, arrhythmia management, and atrial fibrillation. Dr. Gordon Moe's research interest is translational research, cardiac remodelling and biomarkers in heart failure, and ethnicity and cardiovascular disease. Dr. Juan Carlos Monge's research interests included Endothelial Dysfunction, atherosclerosis, hyperlipidemia, hypertension and the effects of sex hormones on the cardiovascular system.
