  6. 6If your child is having a medical emergency, which includes difficulty breathing, loss of consciousness or a mental health crisis, call 9-1-1 immediately for an ambulance or visit your nearest emergency department.
  7. 7If you are unsure when to visit the emergency department, find out when to visit the emergency department with your child.
  8. 8If possible, arrive at the Emergency Department prepared; visit the What to Bring page for information on items to bring.
  9. 9One to two family members or caregivers are welcome to accompany each patient in the Emergency Department.
  10. 10Always stay with your child for safety.

  12. 12If your child ingests a chemical, medication or poison, call the Poison Control Centre immediately at 1-800-567-8911.
  13. 13If you feel sick or have cold and flu-like symptoms, please avoid visiting a patient until you are feeling better.
