1. 1If you have cold or flu symptoms, wear a mask when in the office.
2. 2Book most appointments using the online service.
3. 3All appointments require 24-hour notification to cancel, otherwise a fee will be charged.
4. 4For urgent problems or scheduling conflicts, another physician in the office may see you.
5. 5Urgent/same day access appointments open up ONLY within 24 hours of their start time and are best booked online.
6. 6If nothing is available online, try to call the office for urgent appointments.
7. 7Yearly physicals are not covered under Medical Services Plan unless you are under 5 or over 55 years of age or have a chronic medical condition.
8. 8Physicals must be booked in advance by calling the office.
9. 9Pap smears need to be booked by calling the office.
10. 10Appointments with pediatricians are based on referrals from your family physician.
11. 11Uninsured services are not covered by BC Health Insurance (MSP) and must be paid directly by the patient.
12. 12If fees for uninsured services cause undue financial burden, inform the clinic.
13. 13If you prefer not to have a learner present during your appointment, notify the MOAs upon arrival.
14. 14For maternity urgent issues, call 778-440-3379. This number is for URGENT concerns only and may have a response time of up to four hours.
15. 15Do not call the emergency doctor on call for prescription refills, missed calls, results, or appointment scheduling.
16. 16The on-call doctor cannot assess issues that need in-person assessment (e.g., rashes, fractures, cuts).
17. 17For general family practice urgent concerns, check the online booking page for rapid access appointments or visit a walk-in clinic/Urgent Primary Care Centre.
18. 18For mental health concerns, talk to your care provider and utilize provided resources.
19. 19If experiencing a mental health crisis, contact the Vancouver Island Crisis line or go to Royal Jubilee Hospital Emergency Department.
