Patient Profile:Patients requiring diagnostic imaging services, including X-ray, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, bone mineral density, women's imaging, and pain clinic services.
Patient Instructions
  1. 1Do not obtain any vaccines 7 days before injection (Pain Clinic).
  2. 2Recent ultrasound and x-ray (within past 6 months) of affected site required for Pain Clinic injections.
  3. 3Bring valid health card to appointment.
  4. 4Pick up prescription from pharmacy on the first floor of the TMC building (Pain Clinic).
  5. 5Arrive 15 minutes early with patient questionnaire filled out (Pain Clinic).
  6. 6Do not obtain any vaccines 7 days following cortisone injection (Pain Clinic).
  7. 7Apply ice packs to injection site for no more than 20 minutes at a time (Pain Clinic).
  8. 8Remove bandage over injection site after 12 hours post injection (Pain Clinic).
  9. 9May shower after bandage is removed (Pain Clinic).
  10. 10No submerging in water (bathtub, swimming pool, hot tub etc.) for 24 hours after procedure (Pain Clinic).
  11. 11Resume taking any medications stopped prior to procedure (Pain Clinic).
  12. 12Continue regular diet (Pain Clinic).
  13. 13Resume normal activities but avoid strenuous exercise for 7 days post injection (Pain Clinic).
  14. 14Wear compression stockings fitted for the correct size and type for two weeks following EVLT (Vein Clinic).
  15. 15Medical compression stockings are typically a required investment following sclerotherapy (Vein Clinic).
