• Email as soon as baby is born to schedule an appointment.
• Parents are welcome to hold baby during the procedure, stand close by or wait next door.
• Parents-to-be are encouraged to email early.
• If you are Jewish and require a Brit Milah, contact immediately.
• Do not bath baby for 2 days following the circumcision.
• Limit baths for the first week unless necessary.
• Use disposable diapers for the first week.
• Keep baby swaddled, especially legs, if possible.
• Restrict handling of baby to a few people for about three days.
• Avoid grabbing baby near the circumcision site or passing him around at parties.
• Avoid unnecessary travel on unpaved roads.
• Apply lots of Vaseline on the diaper for the first 12-36 hours.
• If gauze is stuck, soak with warm water and Vaseline before removing.
• If gauze is off, use Vaseline on the diaper to prevent sticking.
• If skin on shaft sticks to tip, gently push skin down off the head of the penis.
• If concerned about appearance, wait until most swelling is gone (around week 3) then email safecirc@gmail.com for follow-up.
