  • Hydrate before your massage.
  • Ask questions about your treatment, techniques, and home care.
  • Let your therapist know if you need anything during your massage (pressure, body position, temperature).
  • Light stretching, walking, and relaxing will help your body recover after treatment.
  • An adjustment by your chiropractor after a massage can be very beneficial.
  • Avoid massage if you have fractures, weakened bones, open or healing wounds, recent surgery, skin infections, systemic/contagious/infectious diseases (including common cold), fever, alcohol consumption, recently taken pain medication, or low blood platelet counts/blood-thinning medications.
