• Bring a list of medications you are currently taking and a valid OHIP card.
• It is helpful to write down a list of questions for the provider to ensure all questions and concerns are addressed during the appointment.
• New patients should arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled appointment time to complete paperwork.
• For same-day walk-in clinic appointments, call during business hours or register in person.
• Bring your health card when you visit.
• All appointments must be attended in person; walk-in appointments cannot be made over the phone.
• Walk-in clinic appointments are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis each day.
• Patients requiring a walk-in appointment will be assigned the next available timeslot with a physician.
• Once all designated walk-in timeslots are filled for the day, the clinic will stop registering patients.
• Walk-in clinic appointments are intended for acute, minor (non-life-threatening) health issues when your family doctor is unavailable.
• For urgent and serious medical concerns, please visit the nearest emergency department.
• MedCare Clinics requires 24-hours' notice for appointment cancellations.
• No shows will be charged a fee that varies based on the type of appointment missed.
• MedCare Clinics policy prohibits providing lab, imaging results or medical reports over the phone.
• There will be a charge for all patients who do not have valid medical coverage in Canada; coverage must be verified prior to visit.
• Forms are to be presented at time of appointment booking. Depending on the type of form, it may take up to 5 days to be completed. Forms cannot be completed the same day if the scheduling staff was not notified of them. A new appointment will have to be scheduled in this case.
• Do not wait for your physical assessment to see our providers with a laundry list of problems. Your provider expects you to make an appointment and see them regularly to deal with your problems one at a time in a timely fashion.
