  • For Emergency Department visits, dial 9-1-1 for life-threatening situations.
  • Bring your health card to every visit.
  • Bring a list of your current medications or the bottles, including all prescription, non-prescription, traditional, and herbal remedies and vitamins.
  • Bring your Status Card if relevant for obtaining medications or equipment.
  • If accompanying a child, bring diapers, a change of clothes, and their favorite toy or book.
  • If you have a cough or cold, avoid visiting patients at the hospital. If you need to be seen in the Emergency Department, wear a mask and wash your hands.
  • For prescription refills, visit your primary care provider; opioids are not renewed in the Emergency Department.
  • Appointments are required for all laboratory collections.
  • Bring your requisition to the lab for appointments.
  • Follow any preparations advised by your physician (e.g., fasting).
  • For Physiotherapy appointments, bring your health card, loose fitting clothing, indoor shoes, and a list of medications.
  • For Cardiac Rehabilitation, bring your health card, list of current medications, name of your specialist, water bottle, indoor gripped shoes, and comfortable clothing for exercise.
  • For Rapid Access Clinic (NEJAC) assessments, bring your health card, list of current medications, reading glasses if required, and comfortable clothing (shorts for hips and knees, tank top for shoulders).
  • For ISAEC assessments, bring your health card, completed patient intake form (or allow 20 minutes to complete), list of medications, and comfortable clothing (shorts, tank tops).
  • For GLA:D program assessments, bring your health card, indoor shoes, water bottle, loose comfortable clothing, and list of current medication.
  • Appointments are required for all Radiology tests. Bring your requisition and health card.
  • For Abdominal, Kidneys & Aorta Ultrasound, nothing to eat after midnight.
  • For Pelvic, Bladder & Obstetrical Ultrasound, drink one liter of water one hour before the test.
