  • For Pelvic Ultrasound: Finish drinking 4-6 cups of water an hour before the exam; do not empty bladder until after the exam.
  • For Abdomen and Pelvis Ultrasound: Fast for 8 hours (nothing to eat), but finish drinking 4 cups of water one hour before the exam to fill bladder. Do not empty bladder until pelvic portion is completed.
  • For Kidneys and Bladder Ultrasound: Fast for 4 hours (nothing to eat) and finish drinking 4 cups of water one hour before the exam; do not empty bladder until after the exam.
  • For Obstetrics Ultrasound (under 13 weeks): Finish drinking 4 cups of water an hour before the exam; do not empty bladder until after the exam.
  • For Obstetrics Ultrasound (13-22 weeks): Finish drinking 3 cups of water an hour before the exam; do not empty bladder until after the exam.
  • For Obstetrics Ultrasound (over 22 weeks): Finish drinking 2 cups of water an hour before the exam; do not empty bladder until after the exam.
  • For Axilla Ultrasound: Do not use deodorant/antiperspirant prior to the exam.
  • Give 1 DAY CANCELLATION OR RESCHEDULING NOTICE for appointments.
  • All patients must be at the Clinic no later than 5 minutes prior to appointment time.
  • If bringing children to an appointment, please have another adult along to supervise.
