  • Review Patient Preparation Sheet for your procedure.
  • Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing for your ultrasound exam.
  • Doctor may instruct not to eat or drink for up to 12 hours before appointment (consult patient prep sheet).
  • Remove clothing and jewelry in the area to be examined.
  • Do not schedule mammogram for the week before your period if breasts are tender; best time is one week after period.
  • Inform doctor or X-ray technologist if there is any possibility of pregnancy.
  • Do not wear deodorant, talcum powder, or lotion under arms or on breasts on the day of the mammogram.
  • Describe any breast symptoms or problems to the technologist performing the mammogram.
  • If possible, obtain prior mammograms and make them available to the radiologist.
  • Ask when your mammogram results will be available.
  • Remove all jewelry and clothing above the waist for mammogram and wear provided gown.
  • Patients may be asked to fast and refrain from liquids before CT scan.
  • Report allergy status accurately, especially any history with contrast materials.
