Best Fit Patients:Patients requiring diagnostic medical ultrasound services, including general, abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, neck/thyroid, musculoskeletal, groin/hernia, scrotal, pediatric, and elastography.
Patient Instructions:
- Masks are optional but requested if you are ill in order to protect immunocompromised patients and our health care workers.
- Please let us know upon checking-in if you are immunocompromised, and would prefer an isolated waiting area.
- ABDOMINAL ULTRASOUND: Nothing to eat or drink after midnight. No breakfast. Children 12 and under fasting for 6 hours (infants 4 hours). Take usual medication.
- ABDOMINAL AND PELVIC ULTRASOUND: Nothing to eat after midnight. A full bladder is required. Adults drink 1 liter of water and finish one hour before the examination. Children 12 and under fasting for 6 hours (infants 4 hours) and drink enough to have a full bladder when arriving. Do not void until after the ultrasound. Take usual medication.
- PELVIC OR OBSTETRIC (PREGNANCY) ULTRASOUND: A full bladder is required. Adults drink 1 liter of water and finish one hour before the examination. Children 12 and under drink enough to have a full bladder when arriving. Do not void until after the ultrasound. *Note: If you are beyond week 30 of your pregnancy, you do NOT need to present with a full bladder.
