The NE LHIN assesses client needs and determines eligibility for Long-Term Care Facility Placement. Applications are forwarded to up to five facilities of the client’s choice. The facility notifies NE LHIN within five business days of decision to approve or not approve the application. Once approved, the applicant is placed on a wait list according to priority rating. The facility notifies NE LHIN of bed vacancy, and the bed is offered to the next applicant on the wait list.
