Patient Instructions:
  • If you are feeling ill within 48 hours of your appointment, please do not visit our clinic. We will happily reschedule your appointment.
  • Please refrain from wearing any perfumes, colognes, or other scented products when visiting our office.
  • For medical emergencies please contact 911 or visit local ER.
  • Sleep Study Instructions: To change or cancel an appointment it must be done at least 48 hours in advance. There is a short notice cancellation and/or no show fee of $150.00 for missed sleep studies.
  • Sleep Study Instructions: Please arrive no earlier than your designated appointment time as we are practicing appropriate social distancing. The doors will remain locked until 8:00pm.
  • Sleep Study Instructions: Bring your VALID Ontario Health Card.
  • Sleep Study Instructions: Bring a comprehensive medication list. Take all medications as usual unless otherwise instructed by your physician.
  • Sleep Study Instructions: Bring comfortable two piece sleep wear (PJ’s, sweat pants/t-shirt).There are NO SHOWERS on site. Do not bring pillows/blankets from home.
  • Sleep Study Instructions: We are a SCENT FREE facility. Do not wear any perfume or cologne to your appointment.
  • Sleep Study Instructions: Remove any nail polish and artificial nails so we can measure your oxygen levels accurately.
  • Sleep Study Instructions: In order to obtain the best possible results you must have clean skin. Make sure that your hair and skin are clean and free of cosmetics, oils, creams or gels prior to arriving for your test. PLEASE SHOWER AND WASH YOUR HAIR THE DAY OF THE STUDY and arrive with dry hair. Refrain from dying your hair 1 week prior to the test. We will be placing some sensors on your scalp and face, as well as on your chest and on your legs just below the knee. The technician may need to shave a very small area on your chest or legs in order to apply those sensors. If possible arriving with a clean shaven face is preferred.
  • Sleep Study Instructions: Do not drink any alcohol for 12 hours prior to your sleep study. Do not drink any coffee, tea, or cola, or eat any chocolate after 6pm the night of your study.
  • Sleep Study Instructions: Smoking is not permitted once you arrive for your sleep study. Nicotine patches are permitted for the night of the study.
  • Sleep Study Instructions: Do not nap on the day of your sleep study.
  • Sleep Study Instructions: If you are diabetic and require a snack please bring one with you. All patients are permitted to bring a water bottle.
  • Sleep Study Instructions: If you require assistance throughout the night you must bring a care taker with you. Please call the clinic prior to your appointment to ensure appropriate arrangements.
  • Sleep Study Instructions: We are a WIFI hot spot. Feel free to bring an electronic device that can be used before lights out.
  • Sleep Study Instructions: You will be leaving to go home at approximately 6:30 am. If you do not drive yourself, please ensure that you have made arrangements to be picked up in the morning by 6:30 am.
  • Cardiac Testing: Holter Monitoring: Wear loose fitting clothing/short sleeve shirt on day of appointment.
  • Cardiac Testing: Holter Monitoring: You will be required to wear the equipment for 24, 48, 72 hours, or 14 days depending on physician request.
  • Cardiac Testing: Holter Monitoring: Your return time will be given to you when you receive the monitor.
  • Cardiac Testing: Holter Monitoring: No bathing or showering while wearing the equipment.
  • Cardiac Testing: Holter Monitoring: Do not sleep on a water bed or under an electric blanket for the duration of the test.
  • Cardiac Testing: Holter Monitoring: If you work around airport security equipment, high power lines, transformers, or climb hydro poles, please arrange to perform other duties for the time you are wearing the monitor.
  • Cardiac Testing: Stress Testing: Do not drink any caffeinated beverages on the day of your test, or your test may need to be rescheduled.
  • Cardiac Testing: Stress Testing: Bring clean running shoes, as you will be exercising on a treadmill.
  • Cardiac Testing: Stress Testing: Wear comfortable clothing, including a short sleeve t-shirt.
  • Cardiac Testing: Stress Testing: If you are prescribed the medication Metoprolol (Lopressor/Toprol XL) or Bisoprolol (Zebeta), do not take 24 hrs prior to testing. (Skip the dose the night prior and morning of the appointment)
  • Cardiac Testing: NOTE: Please bring a list of current medications to all appointments.
  • Pulmonary Function Test: TWO DAYS (48hrs) before the test STOP: Salmeterol = SEREVENT (Green disc or puffer), Salmeterol/ Fluticasone= ADVAIR (Purple disc or puffer), Formoterol= OXEZE (Green knob/white tube inhaler), Formoterol/ Budesonide= SYMBICORT (red knob/ white tube inhaler), Tiotropium= SPIRIVA (Capsule you puncture and inhale daily), SPIRIVA RESPIMAT (blue/grey inhaler you twist), Fluticasone= BREO ELLIPTA (blue or pink +white puffer), Umeclidinium/Vilanterol= ANORO ELLIPTA (pink+ white puffer), Umeclidinium= INCRUSE ELLIPTA (green+ white puffer), Tiotropium/ Olodaterol= INSPIOLTO RESPIMAT (green/grey inhaler you twist), Aclidinium/ Formoterol= DUAKLIR GENUAIR (orange/white inhaler with button), Aclidinium= TUDORZA GENUAIR (green/white inhaler with button), Glycopyrronium/Indacterol= SEEBRI, ONBREZ, ULTIBRO (orange, blue, or yellow inhaler with capsule to puncture), Montelukast= SINGULAIR (White pill), Zafirlukast= ACCOLATE (White pill).
  • Pulmonary Function Test: FOUR (4) HOURS before the test STOP: Ipratropium/ Salbutamol= COMBIVENT RESPIMAT (orange/grey inhaler you twist), Salbutamol= VENTOLIN; APO-SALVENT (blue puffer), Terbutaline= BRICANYL (blue knob/ white tube inhaler), Ipratropium= ATROVENT (white puffer with green cap).
  • Pulmonary Function Test: FOUR (4) HOURS before the test STOP SMOKING.
  • Pulmonary Function Test: DO NOT STOP: Fluticasone= ARNUITY ELLIPTA (yellow or orange/white inhaler), Budesonide= PULMICORT (light, medium, dark brown knob/white tube inhaler), Fluticasone= FLOVENT (light or dark orange disc or puffer), Prednisone= PREDNISONE; ORAL STEROIDS (white pills), Antibiotics.
  • Pulmonary Function Test: CALL if you are uncertain if should stop or continue one of your drugs. Our office number in 683-4415.
