Patient Instructions
  1. 1Come 5-10 minutes prior to your appointment.
  2. 2Cancel your appointment 24 hours in advance.
  3. 3Wear a mask in the clinic.
  4. 4Do not come to the clinic if sick, exposed to COVID-19, or traveled outside Canada in the last 14 days.
  5. 5Call during regular office hours to book an appointment.
  6. 6Appointments are 15 minutes only; intake will be done over the phone at least one day prior to your visit.
  7. 7If you do not answer the intake call, your appointment will be cancelled and you will need to re-book.
  8. 8If you are late, even by a few minutes, you will need to re-book.
  9. 9If you miss the call from the physician for a phone consult, you will need to re-book.
  10. 10Birth Control will not be sold after 4:00pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; and after 6:00pm on Wednesday.
  11. 11No returns on any medication sold by our clinic.
  12. 12For IUS (Hormonal Device) no sex without condoms for 2 weeks prior to your appointment.
  13. 13For IUD (Copper Device) no sex without condoms for 2 weeks prior to appointment.
  14. 14A urine pregnancy test must be done at our clinic right before IUD/IUS insertion.
  15. 15If you want your test results forwarded to another healthcare provider, you must sign a request form at his/her office.
  16. 16If you wish to restrict access to your results, indicate that to your counsellor at your clinic visit and sign forms.
  17. 17For a urine pregnancy test, come anytime after one week of missing your period.
  18. 18To purchase Emergency Contraceptive Pill (ECP/Plan B), come within 72 hours from when you had unprotected sex.
  19. 19To purchase birth control, you must have a prescription from one of our doctors at IWHC Toronto.
