Patient Instructions
  1. 1If you have cold or flu symptoms, wear a mask when in the office.
  2. 2Book most appointments using the online service.
  3. 3All appointments require 24-hour notification to cancel to avoid a charge.
  4. 4For urgent problems, try to book online within 24 hours of the start time or call the office.
  5. 5Yearly physicals are not covered under MSP unless you are under 5 or over 55 years of age or have a chronic medical condition; book in advance by calling the office.
  6. 6Pap smears need to be booked by calling the office.
  7. 7Do not 'save' problems or urgent issues for physical appointments.
  8. 8If fees for uninsured services place an undue financial burden, inform the clinic.
  9. 9If you prefer not to have a learner present during your appointment, notify the MOAs upon arrival.
  10. 10For maternity urgent issues, call 778-440-3379. This number is for URGENT concerns only and not for prescription refills, missed calls, results, or appointment scheduling.
  11. 11If you feel your concern cannot wait for the on-call doctor, proceed to the Emergency Room or Labour and Delivery.
  12. 12For medical emergencies, call 911.
  13. 13For general family practice urgent concerns that cannot be addressed by office appointments, consider a walk-in clinic, Urgent Primary Care Centre, or Babylon.
  14. 14Registered Grow Health patients can use the After Hours Family Practice Emergency Line (1-855-615-7107) after 5pm daily for urgent matters. For non-urgent matters, leave a voicemail on the main line.
  15. 15Unattached patients cannot use the emergency line; call 811 for support.
  16. 16If struggling with mental health, reach out to friends, family, or the Vancouver Island Crisis Line (24/7/365) by phone: 1-888-494-3888, by text: 250-800-3806 (6pm-10pm), or online at https://www.vicrisis.ca/.
