Instructions

  1. Stop certain medications before surgery as instructed by your surgeon and physicians (e.g., Warfarin, Enoxaparin, Clopidogrel, Lisinopril, Persantine, Fosamax, Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors, Dietary Supplements, NSAIDs like aspirin and ibuprofen).
  2. Bring a list of all current medications with dose information to the preoperative visit.
  3. Fast (no food or liquids) before surgery according to guidelines: no meals 8 hours prior, light snack/milk/infant formula/cereal with milk 6 hours prior, breast milk 4 hours prior (infants), clear liquids 2 hours prior.
