Instructions
- For CT Imaging Examinations, patients should have nothing to eat for 4 hours prior, only clear liquids. Take medications with clear liquids. If dispensed oral contrast, drink 2 hours prior to appointment. If not, arrive 2 hours early to drink contrast.
- For CT Examination of Head/Neck/Chest with Contrast, nothing to eat or drink for 4 hours prior. Take all medications as directed. If allergic to contrast, physician is responsible for prescribing pre-medications.
- For CT Examination of Pelvis with or Without Contrast, nothing to eat or drink for 4 hours prior. Drink first bottle of contrast 2 hours prior, second bottle 60 minutes prior. Take all medications as directed. If allergic to contrast, physician is responsible for prescribing pre-medications. Diabetic patients having IV contrast should follow provider instructions.
