Providence Saint John’s Health Center is at the forefront of leading-edge treatment, renowned for groundbreaking research and turning discoveries into therapeutics. Researchers have published approximately 100 peer-reviewed studies across more than a dozen key specialties. Hundreds of patients are enrolled in dozens of open clinical trials. The center also has a long history of pioneering clinical trials, research, and evidence-based therapies, including establishing the first cancer-care center west of the Mississippi and over 90 years of radiation research. They led the international trial of the first immunotherapy approved for melanoma patients and the first successful gene-engineered T-cell therapy for metastatic pancreatic cancer. Patients have the opportunity to participate in over 1,300 new clinical trials annually.
