Instructions

  1. Stop certain medications (Warfarin, Enoxaparin, Clopidogrel, Lisinopril, Persantine, Fosamax, Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors, Dietary Supplements, NSAIDs) before surgery as discussed with your surgeon and physicians.
  2. Bring a list of all current medications with dose information to the preoperative visit.
  3. Fast (no food or liquids) before surgery according to guidelines: no meals 8 hours prior, light snack/milk/infant formula 6 hours prior, breast milk 4 hours prior (infants), clear liquids 2 hours prior.
