Instructions

  1. Before your MRI exam, remove all accessories, including hair pins, jewelry, eyeglasses, hearing aids, wigs, and dentures.
  2. Notify your technologist if you have any prosthetic joints, a heart pacemaker, defibrillator, artificial heart valve, IUD, metal plates, pins, screws, surgical staples, neuro-stimulators, inner ear implants, tattoos, permanent make-up, a bullet or shrapnel, or ever worked with metal, or are pregnant or suspect pregnancy.
  3. For 3D mammography, patients are advised not to use deodorant, talcum powder, or lotion on the day of their exam.
