Instructions
- Before your MRI exam, remove all accessories, including hair pins, jewelry, eyeglasses, hearing aids, wigs, and dentures.
- Notify your technologist if you have any prosthetic joints, a heart pacemaker, defibrillator, artificial heart valve, IUD, metal plates, pins, screws, surgical staples, neuro-stimulators, inner ear implants, tattoos, permanent make-up, a bullet or shrapnel, or ever worked with metal, or are pregnant or suspect pregnancy.
- For 3D mammography, patients are advised not to use deodorant, talcum powder, or lotion on the day of their exam.
