Cook Children's Medical Center provides comprehensive medical care designed specifically for children, from infants through their teen years.

Instructions

  1. For glucose tolerance tests, patient should not eat or drink anything other than water after 10pm the night before. Arrive 15 minutes early for registration. Bring one parent's photo ID and insurance card.
  2. For sweat chloride tests, patient should drink a lot of fluids for at least 8 hours before the procedure and eat regular meals. Do not use any creams or lotions on the skin for at least 24 hours before the procedure. If the patient is sick with fever, vomiting, or diarrhea, it is better to reschedule. Take medication as usual. Arrive 15 minutes early for registration. Bring one parent's photo ID and insurance card.

Getting Here

  1. Emergency room visits: Look for the red awning on the east side of the medical center.
  2. Park directly across the street, in the lot at the southeast corner of 6th and Terrell.
  3. Medical center visits: Located at the intersection of 7th Avenue and Cooper Street.
