  1. Avoid using lotions, creams, perfumes, and deodorants in and around the breast area and under your arms before a mammogram.
  2. Describe any breast symptoms or problems to the technologist performing the exam.
  3. Stay in communication with your primary care provider's office for diagnostic mammogram results.
