Stony Brook Medicine was named to the 2017 “Most Wired” List for the Ninth Consecutive Year. The hospital received the 2017 ‘Greenhealth Partner for Change’ Award from Practice Greenhealth. The Trauma Center achieved verification from the American College of Surgeons. The C. Difficile Prevention Quality Improvement Team earned an iCARE Award for Clinical Quality. The Discharge Process Team and Sterile Processing Department earned iCARE Awards. Stony Brook Medicine received 16 awards from LI Business News. The hospital was recognized as the top hospital on Long Island for heart attack survival rates. Stony Brook Midwifery Practice was named a National Best Practice by the American College of Nurse Midwives. The hospital received the NYSPQC Obstetrical Improvement Project’s 2015 Quality Improvement award. Stony Brook Medicine was named "Most Wired" for the Eighth Consecutive Year. The Stem Cell Transplant Team achieved International Accreditation. The Neonatal Resuscitation Project received a Silver Award. The Pharmacy will receive state and national recognition. The Cardiac Cath Lab earned a Bronze Award for Excellence. SBUH was granted the Get with the Guidelines Gold PLUS with Target Elite PLUS award recognition program from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. The prestigious Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award was presented to SBUH’s Ambulatory Surgery Center. SBUH has three Joint Commission certified programs: Primary Stroke, Heart Failure, Palliative Care.
