Instructions
- Patients taking aspirin or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) may have decreased concentrations of prostaglandin F2 alpha. If possible, discontinue for 2 weeks or 72 hours, respectively, prior to collecting a specimen.
- Patient should fast overnight, prior to collection of specimen for 5-HIAA, Plasma test.
- Patient must fast for at least 12 hours prior to collection for 7AC4, Bile Acid Synthesis, Serum test; fasting morning specimen is preferred.
