  2. For physical therapy services, individuals in Washington can seek services directly from a licensed physical therapist without needing a referral or prescription from a physician, though insurance providers may still require one for coverage.
  3. For Medicare Patients in Transitional Care, the first 20 days of care are free. Medicare pays 100 percent of the cost of the room, therapies, X-rays, laboratory fees, medications, and physician visits. After the first 20 days, patients can stay up to 100 days with a co-pay (supplemental insurance may cover co-pay).
